Grande ourse – Petite ourse

Young audiences

▶ Creation: Foolish Operations

Grande Ourse – Petite Ourse will have its premiere in May 2026 at the Vancouver International Children’s Festival. Inspired by the life of a newborn in the vastness of the universe, this creation draws from the oldest human traditions, which, since time immemorial and across cultures, have projected stories and songs into the constellations of the night sky. Stars have thus become places of memory and dreams.

Grande Ourse – Petite Ourse invites toddlers aged 0 to 2 and their families to a poetic exploration of the senses through video projections of stars, nebulae, light and color games, as well as shiny materials in costumes, accessories, and sets. Movement and music further enrich this immersive experience. The creative cycle of the performance is based on an exchange between the artists and the target audience, with several artistic residencies and a community participation laboratory where families were invited to take part.

Creation Julie Lebel, in collaboration with Jo Leslie – Cast Sarah Gallos, Isabelle Kirouac, Olivia Shaffer – Music design and live flute Sabrina Mo – Singing Ghislaine Doté – Associated producer and stage management Karen Thào La – Costume, set and prop design Diane Park – Lighting design and projections Andie Loyd

Dilemme

Mainstage audience

▶ Co-creation: Théâtre la Seizième and Théâtre DuBunker

Claire, a social worker and interventionist, works the night shift at a call center since the accidental death of her daughter. As the phone rings, her personal and professional lives intertwine, leading to a particular call that forces her to confront a situation that will push her to the limits of her abilities. A hybrid of theatre and cinema, Dilemme is a unique formal experiment that immerses us in a gripping story raising the question: how far are we willing to go to save someone?

Inspired by the Danish film Den Skyldige (The Guilty), Dilemme is a theatrical creation project that seeks to adapt the psychological thriller for the stage. Various cinematic techniques and codes are explored to create the same tension experienced when watching a suspenseful film. A sensory and unsettling theatrical experiment.

Liste des enfants dévorés par les loups

Mainstage audience

▶ Text by Caroline Bélisle

Caroline is working on the development of her text Liste des enfants dévorés par les loups for la Seizième. She explores the entanglements between femininity and guilt. We follow Charlène and Blanche, two friends who travel the winding road that separates the figure of the woman from that of the mother. With a cruelty as dry as it is ordinary, the playwright questions the price of devotion… and how to avoid having to pay it.
