Electronic tickets

After the purchase of your tickets, you will receive an email message entitled Theatre la Seizieme – Billets et confirmation de commande. Your tickets are included as an attachment to the message. On the day of the performance, we ask that you show your tickets at the theatre entrance as well as a supporting document to confirm the validity of the reduced rate. If you do not receive your tickets or have misplaced them, please contact us at 604-736-2616 or by email at ventes@seizieme.ca

▶ Should I print my tickets?

We suggest that you present the QR code found on the electronic version of your ticket directly from your smart phone. If you do not have a smart phone, print your ticket and show it to our staff the night of the performance.

▶ I am no longer available to attend the performance, what are my options?

As indicated in our general conditions of sale all subscription and single tickets sales are non-refundable.

  • More than 72 hours prior to any given performance: subject to availability, you may exchange your ticket for another performance of the same play. The administrative charge for individually purchased tickets is 4 dollars but free for subscribers.
  • Less than 72 hours prior to a given performance: It is unfortunately not possible to exchange your tickets. Two options are possible:
    • You can offer your tickets to someone of your choice. Please contact us by email at vente@seizieme.ca or by telephone 604-736-2616 to inform us of the change.
    • If you cannot find someone to offer your ticket to please let us know so that we can free up your seat for someone on the waitlist.

Trigger warnings

At Théâtre la Seizième, we think it important that audience members get to fully experience a play, so that they can be moved, surprise or even shaken by the performance. We prefer not to share too much about the content or the form of the piece. We do also understand that certain subjects and/or theatrical techniques (haze, strobe lights, loud noises or music, etc.) can be a trigger and make the experience inaccessible for some audience members. If you’d like to know more about the shows we present, contact us and we will send you a document containing all the pertinent information to help you make your decision.

New pricing options

▶ Solidarity tickets

This initiative was created for those for whom the access to culture has become an obstacle. Solidarity tickets can be purchased without any supporting documents, and each person decides whether or not they are eligible. It’s a system that calls on everyone’s sense of responsibility and solidarity.

Starting from the 2023-2024 season, we are introducing special rates for full-time students, individuals aged 30 and under, as well as professionals in the performing arts! FAQ

▶ How long before the performance should I arrive?

The box office opens one hour before the show. The doors to the theatre open 15-30 minutes before the performance. Seats are not allocated by reservation but by general admission.

▶ If a performance is sold out is there a waitlist?

Yes. If a performance is sold out, a waitlist will be available on our website. You can also contact us by telephone at 604-736-2616 to be added to the list.

If tickets become available, we will call people in the order that they were added to the list. If you have not received a call two hours before the start of the performance, there still might be a chance that seats will become available. We suggest that you come to the box office at the theatre where the performance is being held. Five minutes before the show is to commence, if seats do come free, we will make tickets available by order of arrival of non-ticket holders.

  • Unless otherwise stated, if you must leave the theatre during the performance, you will not be allowed to re-enter.
  • Out of respect for the artists, no latecomers will be admitted.
▶ Can I bring my children to a mainstage show?

We enjoy playing to as wide an audience as possible. However, some of our shows might be unsuitable for children. To help you decide if a show is right for you and your family, please contact us.

▶ Do you have cloakrooms?

We do not have staffed cloakrooms. There are coatracks available. Please do not leave valuables unattended as Theatre la Seizieme takes no responsibility for lost or stolen objects.

▶ What should I do if I have lost/forgotten an item after a show?

If you’ve lost a hat, a scarf, a bag or have forgotten a personal item, please call our box office.

▶ Does Théâtre la Seizième handle reservations for Studio 16?

No. Despite the similarity in names and the fact that we present shows there every year, Théâtre la Seizième is not the owner of Studio 16 and therefore does not manage the rental of the venue. If you wish to book Studio 16, please contact Maison de la Francophonie.

If you have any questions or comments to share with us, please call us at 604-736-2616 or email us at info@seizieme.ca.
