THE IMPACT OF COVID-19 ON OUR ACTIVITIES

In response to the spread of COVID-19 and in accordance with the government measures, most of our activities are suspended. What does that mean exactly? Here are more details:

POSTPONEMENTS AND CANCELLATIONS

  • the mainstage show We love Arabs – scheduled from April 23 to April 25, 2020 – is cancelled. We are working with the artistic team and our partners of the Dance Centre on postponing the show to our next season.
  • the family show and school tour of our production Le Merveilleux Voyage d’Inès de l’Ouest are also cancelled. The school tour had a total of 69 performances scheduled from March 30 to June 19, 2020, in the provinces of British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan. We are now in dialogue with the show’s artistic team and our partners from the three provinces regarding a possible tour in fall 2020.
  • the show programmed to tour in BC high schools, Princesse de Personne, has been cancelled by its producer, Théâtre la Catapulte. At the moment, a postponement of the show is not considered.
  • another consequence of school closures is the suspension of our in-school drama workshops. We are currently looking at the possibility of bringing this activity online and of supporting children’s education during this time of crisis.

TEMPORARY OFFICE CLOSURE

The office of Theatre La Seizième are closed until further notice. Our team, in teleworking, stays nevertheless active. In this quarantine period, we want more than ever to continue sharing good news and joyful initiatives with you, in order to support the artists and the whole arts scene, and to bring you theatre at home!
