Seven nominations for la Seizième at the 25-26 Jessie Richardson awards
We’re thrilled to see our productions “Liste des enfants dévorés par les loups” and “Petite Ondine” receive a total of 7 nominations at the Jessie Richardson Awards!
In the “Large Theatre” category, Liste des enfants dévorés par les loups received three nominations.
“Outstanding Performance in a Dramatic Lead Role” for Siona Gareau-Brennan and Gabrielle Morin – Ensemble.
Cory Haas’s direction has been recognized with a nomination for “Outstanding Direction.”
Liste des enfants dévorés par les loups is also nominated in the “Outstanding Production” category.
In the “Script Division” category, Liste des enfants dévorés par les loups is nominated for “Outstanding Original Script” by Caroline Bélisle with Translation to English by Cory Haas.

In the “Young Audiences” category, Petite Ondine, produced by Théâtre la Seizième and the Kleine Compagnie (Vancouver), received three nominations.
“Outstanding Performance” for Ghislaine Doté.
“Outstanding Performance” for Thérèse Champagne.
“Significant Artistic Achievement” for integration of table-top puppetry and live-streaming.

Théâtre la Seizième would like to congratulate Mateusz West and Alaia Hamer, who are also nominated for other productions in several categories.
Mateusz West is nominated for “Outstanding Original Script” with Tomboy (Chłopczyca), a play that has been nominated in many categories. Mateusz is the playwright behind Double Vie, a project support by Theatre la Seizieme. Find out more about Double Vie here: New Dramaturgies.
Alaia Hamer received a total of six nominations for various productions in the “Outstanding Costume Design” and “Outstanding Set Design” categories. Alaia designed the sets and costumes for Liste des enfants dévorés par les loups (2026) and Ce que je sais de vrai (2025), both productions by Théâtre la Seizième.
Since 2000, Théâtre la Seizième and its artists have received over 100 awards or nominations at the Jessie Richardson Theatre Awards, which are presented annually to artists, producers, and theatre companies in Vancouver in recognition of artistic excellence.
